Peripheral Nerve Entrapment
(Peripheral Neuropathy)
Our nerves can become trapped as they pass from our spine to our arms, hands, legs, and feet.
Also, certain medical disorders can damage the nerves in the same areas. Nerve disorders can
cause pain, numbness, tingling, and/or weakness in the spine, arms, legs, hands, and feet.
Calcific Tendinopathy/ Adhesive Capsulitis
(Frozen Shoulder)
These are additional medical issues that can cause damage to the tendons and soft tissue around
the shoulder. These problems can cause arm numbness, tingling, weakness, and limited range of motion of the shoulder.
Muscle Strains
Our muscles support our skeleton and joints. Also, muscle promote movement. Many factors
can contribute to muscle injury or tearing. This injury can cause pain, swelling, or weakness in
the area that is affected.
Epicondylitis
Repetitive stress involving the muscle tendons that attach to the outside or inside of the elbow
can cause Epicondylitis. This can result in pain or weakness around the Elbow where those
muscle tendons attach. This is sometimes called Tennis or Golfer’s Elbow.
Rotator Cuff
Disease
The Rotator Cuff is a group of four muscles that support proper movement of the shoulder. The
tendons, which attach muscle to bone, can become damaged. Tendons have a poor blood supply, which can cause them to become damaged or inflamed. This causes shoulder pain using/sleeping on the affected side. This problem can cause arm numbness, tingling, weakness, and limited range of motion of the shoulder.
Greater Trochanteric Tendinopathy (Bursitis)
This disorder refers to pain on the outside of the hip that is tender to touch or sleeping on the
painful side. It is caused by degenerative changes to the hip muscle tendons that attach at this
area. The tendon damage is usually due to repetitive stress, overuse, or lack of exercise.
Achilles Tendinopathy
This disorder refers to injury to the Achilles tendon which attaches the calf muscle to the heel.
Overuse, repetitive stress, lack of exercise, and tight calf muscles can increase injury to this
tendon. Damage to the tendon can cause calf, heel, or foot pain especially with standing, running, or walking.
Quadriceps and Patellar Tendinopathy
Repetitive stress, overuse, or lack of exercise can cause these tendon problems. These are tendon
disorders that cause knee pain with squatting, running, and jumping. These disorders can impact your ability to function and exercise if left untreated.
